Mr. Gavin Ni is the Founder, CEO and President of Zero2IPO. Since 1999, he has built up Zero2IPO into the most influential and active venture capital research and advisory institution, as well as the most extensive venture capitalist and entrepreneur network in China. Mr. Ni was the investor or financing advisor for more than 50 high-growth companies in China. Tianya, Sanfo, L-Mobile, iKang, Ploybona, Qihoo360, CSALC, MecoxLane, Runtian, 9 diamonds, Moonbasa, 5173, and IDM were among the companies in which he has made direct investments. He also serves as Board Director in several hi-tech companies and new media companies, including Tianya, Sanfo and Cyzone.

Mr. Ni is a member of the ACFIC (All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce) Economic Committee, a Torch Entrepreneurial Mentor of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of CDB (China Development Bank) Advisory Committee. He is also the Co-founder and Director of the Limited Partners Association of China (LPACN) and Northern Star Foundation. Besides, he was once the Chairman of Tsinghua Entrepreneur and Executive Club (TEEC) Beijing Chapter.

Mr. Ni was an active promoter of new economy, entrepreneurship and venture capital in China and has written and translated several books, including the Digital Commerce published by China Plan Press in 1998, An Entrepreneurship Primer on Tsinghua Campus by China Reform Press in 1999, Venture Capital Tide by Guangming Daily Press in 1999, and Ruling the Waves by CITIC Press Corporation in 2002. As one of the authorities in China Private Equity market, Mr. Ni is often invited to speak at VC & PE conferences and forums all over the world. In 2010, Mr. Ni was awarded as the “Top 10 CEOs in China 2010” by China Times and CEO Clubs China.

Mr. Ni was once the President of Tsinghua Entrepreneurs Club (TEC) in 1998-1999 and founder and chief organizer of Tsinghua Business Plan Competition. He also served as the Editor-in-chief of China Technology Information Magazine in late 1999.

Mr. Ni graduated from Hunan University with a Bachelor's Degree of Engineering Mechanics, and graduated from Tsinghua University with a Master Degree of Engineering Mechanics and as a Ph.D. from School of Economics and Management in Tsinghua University.
