David Lee
David was hired in 2000 as an early employee at Google and was the first Executive to lead Google overseas. He launched Google's offices in Korea, Japan, Greater China, Australia, UK, Germany, and Latin America, where he also led business development, sales, and operations. He hired the first management teams in each country and established Google's international presence and revenue base.
As Senior Director he lead many major international search advertising partnership deals with eBay, Daum, Yahoo, and others, including Google’s investment into Baidu, and collaborated with Al Gore on Google’s strategy in Asia.
Currently, David is a Venture Partner at SK Telecom Ventures, a $100mm dollar fund based in Silicon Valley, where he funds early and late stage investments. He is also a Co-Founding Partner of XG Ventures, a Google alumni angel fund. His fund has had 5 acquisitions in the last year to Facebook, Google, AT&T, and Disney. Some of his past and current investments include Tapulous, Posterous, Twitter, Greplin, and others.
David is an LP in Y Combinator (tech incubator), and Ron Conway's SV Angels Fund (original Google investor). He’s also a Board Observer of English Central (a Google Ventures backed e-learning company), and sits on several other Advisory Boards in US, Korea, and China.
